The Pruning

Coming soon

At 04:41 on the last night of the Large Hadron Collider, a journalist’s camera lost eleven seconds. The world has been losing them ever since.

Not yet published.

Elias Marrow quit war reporting after a story got his source killed. Now he writes gentle features for a London science magazine. On 27 June 2026 he is at CERN to film the final beams, beside the smallest, dullest experiment on site, when it fires.

Sound dies. Time skips. A technician starts asking for a sister he never had.

Days later a two-note tone is heard around the world at the same instant. Clocks slip. People wake remembering lives that never happened. Elias’s flat is torn apart, and a polite woman in a rental car begins turning up outside his daughter’s house.

The memory card hidden in his wallet holds the only record of the moment it began. The people who built the machine are not finished. They have decided to fix it.

Helios Cascade is a series of standalone science fiction thrillers. Each book is a complete story with its own characters and its own ending. They are not the same story, and they can be read in any order.
